William and Mary Period English wooden Nun

Hello everyone: We are very proud of this one. The antique English wooden Nun dolls from the late 17th century are very rare and there are only a few left in existence such as the Swarbrick Nun.
We are so pleased with every aspect of this doll and the habit. As can be seen in the photos, the habit even has a correct pocket feature which the dolls hands are in in several photos.
The tiny little wooden cross is quite lovely as well and was carved by Paul many years ago. I have kept it all this time but it was so perfect for this doll she just had to have it.
She is 16 inches tall.
Best Wishes: David & Paul

  1. Hi David & Paul, I think she is very, very beautiful, so different from the other dolls of the period, I had no idea there were nun dolls at the time, but it makes sense. The pocket in the habit is brilliant, the habit a triumph of miniature tailoring! Thanks for sharing the photos with us! xxx
